We loved Devil’s Lake State Park and highly recommend this! We suggest you prioritize the Balanced Rock Trail and the Devil’s Doorway Trail. The trails are moderately difficult, only about 2 miles but 1,609 ft. elevation gain. Arrive to the park by 6:45 a.m. and plan to pay $16.00 for out of state vehicles at a self-service pay station. Start the suggested hikes by 7:00 a.m. and then end by 9:00 a.m. You can then take your time and enjoy the rest of the park and trails.
