We left Fairbanks and drove about 3 hours to Healy in a snow storm. We chose Healy as it is located 11 miles north of the Denali National Park. We loved everything about this town. We highly recommend the Aurora Denali Lodge. The people were friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean. We give a thumbs up to the Totem Inn, a welcoming spot with comfort food. Otto Lake is a must stop for pictures, and yes we are standing in the middle of a lake. We have still not spotted a moose and have not seen the northern lights, Trudy may be getting grouchy!
