Stir Crazy
As states started opening up (post the acute phase of the Corona Virus), we decided we wanted to try and get out of the house. We literally looked at our home on a map and said, what destinations are one gas tank from our house. We took a ton of time to research different locations to see if we could safely visit and if there were outdoor activities we could enjoy. Although we could not cross the border into Canada, and all attractions were closed, we could visit Niagara Falls State Park.
The park has miles of hiking trails and beautiful views of the falls.
If we drive more than 2 hours, we always consider if it is a smarter option to rent a car versus driving our own vehicle. This helps to prevent wear and tear on our car. We often times use travel points to get a free rental, or we use one of our travel credit cards to pay for the car and get points. We also get points from the rental car company for future travel. On this trip, we decided to rent a car using our Chase Sapphire Reserve Card. Make sure you are signed up with a rental car company and/or companies and make sure you have the travel credit card or cards appropriate for your needs.
