Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most popular travel destinations and it lies at the heart of beautiful canals.
We decided to stay in The Hague, the capital city of the South of Holland. We wanted a hotel with full kitchen and a location in walking distance to a main train station. When landing in Amsterdam, we took a 30 minute train ride to the Den Haag Centraal Station.
The Heineken Experience. In 1864, Gerard Adriaan Heineken bought the Hooiberg brewery on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and the story of the world’s most famous beer brands began.
Van Gogh Museum. More than 200 paintings and 400 drawings by the artist are assembled in the museum. Van Gogh discovered his vocation at the age of 27 in 1880.
Keukenhof Park. The windmills, clogs and tulips play an important role in Dutch life today. The Dutch produce about 1.7 billion tulips a year.
Anne Frank. Annelies Marie Frank’s diary had been translated into more than 70 languages and is one of the most widely read books in the world. This courageous, young, Jewish woman, needs no introduction.
Dam Square. Dam Square is Amsterdam’s main public square.
